It's interesting that I pulled this card right along with the Karma card, Judgement in the tarot. I really don't know what this means for me today so far, but I do see it as significant. The Singer of Transfiguration--Transformation, Transcendence, Metamorphosis. It says the joy of success after a time of struggle....this card along with Karma makes me wonder if I will soon hear about an important decision and I will be released from it pending in my favor. That would be nice!
I pulled this card for my daily today. It really fits! I have been getting out my rut and my linear way of thinking. I've even been pro-active today as far meeting new friends and being honest with myself about various things. What a great card! The Faeries are speaking!
Luathas the Wild is my faery message for today. Looking at him he looks as if he could jump right out at me! He definitely seems energy filled and spontaneous. I wonder what he is trying to tell me as I hate spontaneity? Perhaps, he is trying to tell me to get up and go! or make some move or do something out of the ordinary today.
Hello lovelies, happy 2010!
I have a request -- does anyone know of anywhere that sells individual cards from the deck, or a used set for cheap? I discovered around New Years that I'm missing three cards from my deck (so sad, I nearly cried! I'm not even sure how long they've been missing.)
I'm in Canada. I've tried Amazon and Chapters online, and they both have used sets, but with shipping, it works out to the same price as re-buying the set new. I'll do it if I have to, but I prefer to find a cheaper option. I'll also use Ebay if I have to, but I prefer not, because most of my Ebay experiences have been negative.
I also wanted to share a couple stories: I had some friends stay with me for a few days over New Years, and we did readings with the faeries oracle. My friend just wanted to choose one card. He shuffled and cut the deck and pulled one card, and it was reversed (I forget exactly which card it was). He wasn't particularly happy with this card, but when I went through the meaning with him, it was definitely an appropriate card for him to have pulled.
A couple hours later, he was still pouting about pulling that card. So, he decided to redo the reading (which I was against), so he shuffled everything back up, pulled another card, and low and behold, it was the same card, and it was still reversed even!
:) I love this deck! I love that it doesn't seem to matter what you want to know, the faeries are going to tell you what they want to tell you. And I've never pulled a card I couldn't understand.
My second story is about a dream I had on New Years eve, after doing a reading for myself. I pulled three cards, to represent the past, present, and future. After the reading I went to sleep, and had a vivid dream that I was standing in an apartment that just being built. The walls were half-painted, the appliances weren't in yet, the floors weren't finished. And I remembered that I had lived in that apartment when it was completed; I could remember what colour the walls would be and where the furniture would go. And I also knew that I had helped to build the apartment, when it was still being built. I remembered the neighbours were loud and their entire apartment was an aquarium filled with exotic fish, and I walked upstairs to the roof and found that the entire building was a ship in a sea that was in the sky. The sea-sky was stormy with clouds and violent waves.
I adore this dream. The way the past, present, and future all merged together into one time and overall idea that the apartment represented my soul, and the connection to water, a metaphor for emotion. It was such an appropriate dream to have on New Years, and I think it was a good omen for 2010.
So I've noticed the past couple of times I've done readings with the FO deck my cat feels she should be involved as well. she'll walk up purring and nuzzles my deck of cards, and she'll lay on them if i have the spread out. I mean literally stretch out so she's touching all of them, and she'll just purr and purr and purr. Next time it happens and I have a camera near by I'll take a picture, its cute! So does anyone else have pets that try to involve themselves in readings? :)
I am so happy to have stumbled across this community! I have had my Oracle for years now, but have never practiced with much conviction. Recently I have acquired my own place (I just turned twenty this summer, and for my junior year of college decided I'd like to live off-campus) and am going through several changes, including the rethinking of my future. I'm a theatre major, and have always been passionate about becoming a professional actress, but after this summer I am considering a somewhat simpler lifestyle. Anxiety is an infliction I have dealt with for very many years, and instead of taking pills I'd much rather choose to simplify my life. I'm worried. I'm lost. I'm tired. So I took out my cards and am using them to guide myself along as I go through these changes. It's so good to have some way of sharing my discoveries and hearing how the cards are helping others.
Today I did a three-card spread, one for what is behind me, one for what I am facing now, and one for what is ahead of me. I drew The Dark Lady
reversed, The Singer of Transfiguration
, and The Maiden
. A very happy reading! The Lady tells me that my choice to leave the theatre may be the right one, or at least I can let it go and still be happy. The Singer shows me I am winning the battle with my anxiety, and that I have transitioned into a happier time of my life. And The Maiden! I believe I am looking forward to a joyous time in my life! A very happy and reassuring reading...Also, all three of my cards today had wings. Perhaps this means that I am able to support myself at last, or maybe that I need not worry so much because I have strong support elsewhere (my parents do still pay for my insurance), or even both.
Is this a good way to interpret this spread? Are there any other ways to read it? I am fairly new at this, and I wonder if I'm going in the right direction. Any feedback???
(Cross-posted in part from my own journal)
For the last couple of days I've been using freeinbondage's three-card "how to have a good day" spread, and today I had rather a nice one, as follows:
1. The Maiden
2. The Maiden :P
3. The Topsie Turvets (reversed, naturally :P )
I think this is the first time since using the two decks together that I've got the same card twice in a reading. In any case, it's a very nice confirmation/bit of encouragement, since there are two major new things going on in my life at the moment!
I posted this in response to the last post by freeinbondage
, but it occurred to me I could try it out for myself and see if it works. Here's what I said:
As an aside, I've had an idea about posts where discussion takes place. Often those posts are swept away pretty quickly in the flist current, so, would it be an idea to alter the date of discussion posts to sometime in the future (say a week or two), so that they stay at the top of the flist long enough to keep an eye on/participate in the discussion while it's unfolding? I have no idea whether this would work in a community the same way as it does in an individual journal, 'but I thought it might be worth a go.
And now I'm going to try it. I've posted it for a week in the future (possibly the only way I'll ever get to time-travel :P ). Hope this is ok!
I was discussing with another member of this group various spreads and position meanings of cards, and decided, why not start a thread on spreads and such to try and encourage others to participate :)
So what would you consider your favorite spread?
what about your most commonly used spread?
I do a daily three card How to have a great day spread. The position of the cards I leave unnamed and let the cards tell me what they want me to know about that day.
I also do a weekly 8 card reading every sunday for my fiance, our roommate, and myself. The 1st card is the total atmosphere of the week, and then the seven cards represent each day of the week. Its helped us all a lot over the past 3 weeks or so we've been doing it.
